Saddle Brook Police Department

The Investigative Division consists of the Detective Bureau and is under the day-to-day command of Captain Vincent Laurentino. The Detective Bureau conducts all background investigations of all Township employees and volunteers, firearms applicants, and permit license applicants. Through their cooperative relationship and assistance with local, county, state, federal and international law enforcement agencies, many serious crimes have been successfully closed with arrests, convictions, and incarceration of the persons responsible and personal property returned to its rightful owners.

The parties responsible for the desecration on a Jewish cemetery located within the Township were sentenced to prison terms by a Federal District Court judge. This case solved by the Bureau and Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Bias Squad resulted in the first case of desecration to ever be charged under Federal Civil Rights Laws in U.S. history.
